The Vancouver Folk Music Festival was, to say the least, incredible. Our weekend began with a late night setting up our stall in preparation for the festival. This was a huge learning experience for our team; we not only learned the importance of asking lots of questions, but also how to create a space for others. Check it out!
What is a toilet doing in the photo you may ask? We decided this would be a great place to introduce the Community Can. What is the Commuinity Can? We've introduced the Community Can as a space to share. It's also a great conversation piece. The rule is, you can sit down and take a load off, but you have to share what community means to you. Moms, dads and kids alike all thought this was a great attraction at our booth and we decided to photograph some of these lovely faces during their visit to the Can.
"Community is a place where people from different places can be together."
We were pleased to see that the Community Can got people talking and created an opporunity for us to connect with others on a deeper level. For this we are truly grateful.
We were even more humbled by the connections and relationships we made over the weekend. From ambassadors of peace to eco-friendly hair salon owners and community buliding enthuiasts, we had the chance to get to know so many inspirational and passionate people. We look forward to building these connections and creating somthing beautiful together. On that note, we'd like to extend a great big thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by and delight us with conversation and donations for mindfulness bracelets.
Of course we're not just all-work-and-no-play; we carved out lots of time to have fun with our community by setting up a slackline beside our tent. What was intended to be a quiet activity to keep us all busy, quickly turned into a festival hang out. Here are some photos of our daring visitors.
The CSW team is moved by this experience at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival. The music, smiles, laughter, dancing and good vibes has inspired us to dream even bigger and make the most of the relationships built. Stay tuned for exciting developments and more stories. In the meantime, please enjoy our photos below and remember, #youllfindusoutside.
